Hailing from the hills of Kumaon in Uttarakhand, I was born and brought up in Ranikhet and have done my schooling from Irish missionary boarding schools in Nainital (St. Joseph’s College)and Delhi (St. Columba’s School), for which I shall always be indebted to my parents.

Since most of childhood had been an exercise in fitting in, I managed to get into one of the better engineering institutes in the country situated in the hinterlands of Dwarka, New Delhi. Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology happened and these were perhaps the most productive or un-productive years of my life depending on which half of the glass you look at. Academics took a back seat but extra-curricular thrived. Coded, quizzed, read and made some of the most wonderfully brilliant friends that I still occasionally thank god for. Since my hobbies didn’t pay me enough money, taking up an analytics job after graduation in the consulting firm ZS Associates seemed like the thing to do.

The work was fair, the people were good and alcohol plenty. What more can the heart of man desire? But then, I wouldn’t be writing this if I had settled in. I was restless. I took a three-month sabbatical to understand the meaning of life, universe and everything and subsequently realized that three-month sabbaticals are not a good idea to understand anything. Gave CAT and was lucky enough to solve a few questions more than most others. IIM Ahmedabad then happened and those were the best two years of my life. That place gave me so much that I could write paragraphs on it, but then, hey, what good is a moment experienced if not written as a memory in retrospect. My WIMWI stories will have their day too. Meanwhile, life took me back to consulting where I currently work for the Chicago-based strategy consulting firm called A.T. Kearney, based out of their Gurgaon office.

Meanwhile, this blog is just a compilation of my interests of sorts – reading, writing, travelling, quizzing and photography. The hobbies are pretty generic but the perspective is unique. Hope you like it!
